AddisCoder is a free, intensive 4-week summer program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, aimed at introducing high school students to programming and algorithms. Founded in 2011, the program offers comprehensive training in Python programming and fundamental concepts in algorithm design and analysis. It is residential, providing free housing, meals, transportation, and registration for participants4. Supported by donations and partnerships, AddisCoder has seen over 600 students complete the program, many of whom have gone on to prestigious universities and successful careers in technology and other fields5. The next session is planned for summer 2025.
